Remember how for many years he had his little camera at the ready? Kind of metaphoric for him not wanting to miss a thing. Evidenced by his being the last one to bed many drum corps weekends. Tommy is one of those icons ... up there w/Mickey Petrone and many, many others who most ... if not all... would agree are both in that "league". His exuberance, zest for life and having fun ... and passion and love for the people he worked and had fun w/ ... made every single person feel as if they had a special connection w/The Great Bucky Swan. That he loved them most. That he thought they were the funniest. Therez no one more willing to belly laugh than that guy. And the more outrageous, the more he loved it. He brought great talent, intensity...um ... volume and energy to performing, composing and teaching. He would jump up and down. Literally jump up and down ... w/joy if you "got" something ... w/utter frustration if you didn't. When not working, he just wanted to "play", banter. Would bend over w/laughter. Then just dart away ... to another victim. And those shifty eyes. Boy ... am I gonna miss those shifty eyes. Broke the mould when he was born. On purpose. There wasn't room on this sphere for more than one Tommy Swan. No one else like 'im. Not even close. Will forever hold a special place in many hearts.
