Obituary for Michael Boyd
Michael John Boyd
July 17, 1981- June 28, 2019
Michael was a man of many faces, all of which were paved with a huge smile. Mike was a devoted son, brother, boyfriend, uncle, family member and friend to all. He was the proud owner of his Shiba Inu and #1 pal, Sake. Sports were his greatest hobby, but his main passion was baseball. He was an avid Yankee fan and self-proclaimed #1 Don Mattingly fan. Michael’s true peace was when he was out on the diamond fielding at shortstop and then 2nd base. Called only and always “Mook” by his father, it was a nickname that stuck throughout his life and considered an honor to have known him well enough to use it. Mike loved planning spontaneous trips with his true love Jessica and having his many lunch dates with his mother. The bond with his sister one could never understand unless you knew the both of them. Growing up watching wrestling with his dad he continued the tradition by always being up for a good play match with his nephews. The #1 girl who stole his heart when he was 17 was his niece and he kept her on a pedestal, always. He also was a proud member of the coolest quartet around, “The Kovoyd’s”, who although down a member will keep his memory alive. The world is forever dimmed a little bit and many pieces of many hearts went with Michael on June 28, 2019.
Michael is survived by his mother Kathleen Boyd and her spouse Paul Campanelli, his father David G Boyd, sister Sheila and his always brother-in-law Ricky Carver, girlfriend and deepest love Jessica Sosa, dearest niece and nephews Mariah, David and JJ.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, NJ with a private cremation to follow.
