Obituary for Gennaro "Jerry" Salvatore

Gennaro “Jerry” Salvatore, age 83 of Parlin, passed away Tuesday July 19th 2011 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manhattan, NY, he had resided in Parlin for over 55 years. Before his retirement in 1988, Jerry worked as a truck driver for over 40 years with AAA Trucking in Trenton. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and a communicant of St. Bernadette’s RC Church in Parlin. Jerry was a “true blue” NY Yankee and NY Giants fan.
He is predeceased by his wife Gloria Campise Salvatore in 2003 and his brothers Alfred, Anthony and John.
Surviving are his sons and their wives, Jerry and Carol of Sayreville, Jack and Nannette of Parlin, Michael and Pat of FL, Robert of Parlin and Joseph and Lucy of Parlin, his grandsons Jack and Nicholas of Parlin, his sister Palma Mallory of Brooklyn and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday 8:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9:15mass at St. Bernadette’s RC Church in Parlin. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
