Timothy Richard Rock, 61, of Honesdale PA, formerly of Carmel NY died Thursday, May 21, 2015 in South River, NJ.
Tim was born on December 23, 1953, in Danbury hospital in CT, to Whitney and Marylou Rock. He graduated from St. James the Apostle elementary school in Carmel, NY and John F. Kennedy high school in Somers, NY. Tim proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1973-1977 on the nuclear submarine, the USS Dace. Tim worked for ATT for several years and was also employed as a small engine mechanic, prison guard and in recent years as a truck driver.
Tim loved nature and studying the stars, and would often tell stories of his cross country adventures. He was also gifted as an artist. Tim was a kind and gentle soul who would do anything he could to help someone out. His pleasant disposition and unique sense of humor will be missed.
Tim leaves behind his son Thomas Rock who was his pride and joy and his wife Christine (Meehan) Rock of Honesdale, PA. He is also survived by his father Whitney Rock of Bethlehem, CT, his sister Elizabeth Rock of Long Island, NY, his brother Joseph Rock and his wife Lucille of Carmel, NY and his sister Therese Cuccia and her husband Dominick of Bethlehem, CT. Tim also leaves behind many adoring nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his Mother, Marylou (Cunneen) Rock.
A funeral service will be held at St. James the Apostle Church located at 14 Gleneida avenue in Carmel, NY on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 12:00 pm.
