MY FIRST VISIT to BRODZICKI Bar in Elizabeth NJ

Getting to Bernie's Tavern was a trip, for sure. Not being familiar with Elizabeth, the streets were blocks of communities, block by block, different cultures, and stores and then there was Bernie's Tavern. Parking my Vette was a concern on the street but found a spot next to the Tavern. Walking in was a different experience than expected. The bartender was a woman, lovely friendly, gentle lady, with a lovely Polish accent. One that seemed special and warm as a welcome for sure. I was looking for Mike? The rest is history for our Piccione/Brodzicki family. What a great lady, Mrs. B, as I had become to know was the Mom of Mike, Wally, and Johnny, no not a singing group of the '60s. But, Brothers and Electrical guys working with Dad, Bernie, the Man who started it all, helped neighbors, and did commercial Electrical services, with a supply trailer right in the back of the bar. So, there is not enough space here, to tell you the "rest of the story", but amazing Mrs. B had the right life and attitude toward others. God decided he needed her too, at age 97. A pleasure to know the lady that kept the Brothers together. God Bless Stephanie. Move over Bernie. With love, Sammy
