Sayreville
Sophia Laskiewicz, age 93 of Sayreville passed away Saturday July 13th 2013 at Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge. Born in Philadelphia, PA she had resided in the Melrose section of Sayreville for many years. Before her retirement she was employed as a sales representative for Avon for many years. Mrs Laskiewicz was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Amboy and was a former board member of South Amboy Hospital Auxiliary and various civic organizations in Sayreville and South Amboy.

She is predeceased by her husband Theodore, her parents Theodore and Mary Karpiszin, and her grandson Kenneth (KC) Cseh. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Todd and Judy of Effort, Pa., Stephen and Carol of Sayreville, Gail and David Karpel of Surprise, AZ , Linda and Tom Kozak of Bunnell, FL, Marilyn and Mike Malinics of Old Bridge and Susan and Vinny Moricco of East Brunswick, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 9:00am Tuesday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, with a 9:30am Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Amboy. Entombment will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4pm to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Sophia’s name to the Reformed Church Home, 1990 Rt. 18 North, Old Bridge NJ 08857.
