Obituary for Rose Marie Scala
South River
Rose Marie Kotowski Scala, age 81 of South River passed away Sunday March 20, 2016 at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in South River, she was a lifelong borough resident. Before her retirement, Rose Marie worked as a supervisor for NJ Bell/AT&T for 34 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She was a member of the VFW Post 7164 Ladies Auxiliary in Avenel. Marie loved gardening, crocheting, sewing and puzzles.
She is predeceased by her parents John and Mary Kotowski, her sisters Jennie Dziatkowicz and Cecelia Nakielny, and her brother Joseph Kotowski.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years John, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday March 29, 2016, 8:30am at the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Ave South River with a funeral mass to follow at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Brunswick.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday March 28, 2016, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
