Rita D. Ciecko, age 82 of Highland Park, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with her loving family at her side. Born in South River, Rita was a resident of Sayreville for most of her life before moving to Highland Park. She was a proud homemaker, taking care of her husband and 5 children. Mrs. Ciecko was an avid bingo player, a unique “lefty” bowler and loved her sweets whenever she could get her hands on them. She also loved both cooking and eating all different kinds of Polish delicacies. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rita is predeceased by her beloved husband Julian Ciecko, her parents John & Laura Kulesa, and her sons-in-law Christopher Manthey and William Baist. Surviving are her loving children Donna & husband Dave Currie of Matawan, Thomas Stashko of Somerville, Lori Manthey of Hillsborough, Robin Baist of Matawan, and Doreen & husband Doug Jolly of Sea Girt; her siblings John Kulesa, Bernie Kulesa, Lorraine Wolanin, and Florence Syslo; her adoring grandchildren Taylor, Chris, Gregory, and Leighann; her wonderful great-grandson Christopher; as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St., Sayreville on Thursday morning from 8:30am to 10:30am with a funeral mass immediately following at 11am at Our Lady of Victories RC Church. A private cremation will immediately follow. A public burial will then take place on Saturday at 1pm at New Calvary Cemetery in Sayreville.
