Madison Park
Raymond Parks age 83 of the Madison Park section of Old Bridge passed away Wednesday April 16, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick with his family at his side. Born in Newark he had resided in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Madison Park 25 years ago. Before his retirement in 1989 he was employed as a maintenance worker for the New York City Transit Authority where he worked for 22 years and was a member of the Transit Workers Union Local 100 in Manhattan. Mr. Parks was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War serving on the U.S.S. Hank DD-702 and was a communicant of Saint Bernadette’s R. C. Church in Parlin.

He is predeceased by his wives Jean I. Reynolds Parks and Ellen Wisdom Parks and son in law Michael F. Carney. Surviving are his daughter Kathleen Carney and her husband David Casper of Naperville, Il., his stepchildren Irene Farley of Old Bridge, JoAnn Bathe and her husband William of Old Bridge and Ellen Reina and her husband David of Florida, his grandchildren Robert Carney, Kevin Carney, Charlene Bathe, Joseph Reina and Michelle Reina and his dearest friends Roland & Elizabeth Holk of Old Bridge who he loved like a brother and adopted daughter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 9:30am mass at Saint Bernadette’s R.C. Church in Parlin with burial to follow at Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Monday from 4pm to 7pm.
