Raymond R Barrow (Ray) age 92, passed away March 9th at home surrounded by his loving family.

Ray was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. His incredible spirit, warmth and kindness was loved by everyone that met him. We will all reflect of the time we spent with him for the rest of our lives. We were all very fortunate to have known, loved, and been loved by such an exceptional person.

Ray was born to William and Agnes Barrow and raised in Jersey City, NJ. He was pre deceased by his parents, four brothers, and a sister, son in law Doug Bird, and by the love of his life Connie, who passed June of 2012. Ray and Connie were married for 62 years. They had 6 children, Steve and Mary Lynn of Manasquan, Glenn and Debra of Monroe, Mary Joy and Bill Faulkner of Spotswood, Kerry and Karen of Brick, Connie Rae and Keith Nielsen of Old Bridge, and Janine Bird and companion Ed Raith of Brick, as well as 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
After graduating St Michaels High School of Union City, Ray entered the US Navy, and was assigned to the USS Higbee which took part in the D-day invasion of Normandy, and saw action in the European Theater during World War II.
Upon returning from military service he went to Seton Hall University, after graduating, he went to work for Bendix Corp. in Teterboro, NJ, retiring in 1988.
Ray was active in St Bernadette’s Holy Name Society, and coached his son’s in Madison Park Little League.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 4pm to 8pm at Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St. Sayreville. Funeral services will be Saturday 8:45am from Maliszewski Memorial Home with a 9:30am Mass being offered at Saint Bernadette R.C Church, Parlin. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. Letters of condolence, direction and completed funeral arrangements can be found at maliszewskimemorialhome.com
