Michael Ortiz, age 57, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, NJ. Michael was born on May 17, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY where he resided until 1996 when he and his family moved to Sayreville, NJ. Throughout all his years, Michael dedicated his life to his family as a devoted husband, loving father and a caring and attentive grandfather. He was also able to touch many people’s lives during his work experience at NPC, where he utilized his handy skills as a maintenance operator and made the commute of many a pleasurable experience driving the bus for NJ Transit.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years Elizabeth Ortiz, his daughter Yvonne Nieves, two sons Michael and Jonathan Ortiz, his parents Frances and Miguel Ortiz, two brothers Raimundo and Juan Ortiz and his sister Sonia Timoney. Additionally, Michael had 2 grandchildren, 5 nephews and 3 nieces.
Funeral services for Michael will be held on Thursday and Friday, March 12 and 13, at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home. There will be two separate viewings on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm. There will also be a service Friday morning at 10 AM, followed by burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery located on Old Bridge Turnpike in East Brunswick, NJ.
