Obituary for Matthew Traina

Matthew Traina, age 83, of Old Bridge, passed away peacefully on Monday March 25, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City, Matthew lived in Sayreville for over 25 years. Before his retirement Matt was employed by Conrail in Kearny. Matthew was a proud Veteran who served in the Korean conflict. He was the president of the Logan Rod and Gun Club in New Gretna. Matt was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, veteran, and so much more. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary, as well as his children and their spouses, Susan and Brian McDonough and Matthew and Lori Traina, his adored grandchildren, Brian, Jenna, Megan, Nicholas and Danielle, his sister Carol Ann Castrovinci, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services will be Saturday at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home on 15 Cherry Lane. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Saturday from 2pm to 6pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Matthew’s name to the Logan Rod and Gun Club.
