Obituary for Leona M. Hummell (Lutz)
Monroe
Leona M. Hummell nee Lutz, age 88, formerly of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, Leona lived in East Orange followed by Sayreville for over 42 years before moving to Monroe in 2000. Mrs. Hummell proudly raised her family always ensuring that they were well taken care of. In her spare time, she was a member of the Sayreville Auxiliary VFW Post #4699 and loved playing bingo, slots, and the horses. Leona also loved her dear grandchildren and spent as much time as she could with them. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Leona is predeceased by her beloved husband Loren Hummell, daughter Linda Hummell, and her 8 siblings John Duris, Annie Duris, Bertha Hummell, Sterling Lutz, Robert Lutz, Dorothy Hummell, Eleanor Dietrick, and Francis Goulish. Surviving are her loving daughters Lorraine and husband Michael A. Rock of Monroe, and Lou Ann Bara of Sayreville; dear grandchildren Kelly LoMauro (Jason) of Monroe, Michael L. Rock (Sharon) of LA, Bryan Giordano and fiancée Dana Semenoro of Westhampton, Tammy Giordano of Mount Laurel, Alan Bara (Tricia) of Old Bridge, and Sandra Fallon (Billy) of Sayreville; as well as her 2 beautiful great-granddaughters Madison Bara & Haven Giordano.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 10am at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main Street, Sayreville followed by burial at Washington Monumental Cemetery in South River.
