Obituary for Joseph A Testa Sr.
Joseph A. Testa, Sr., age 88 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. Born in Staten Island, NY he had resided in Parlin for the past 54 years. Before his retirement, Joseph was employed as a Chemical Operator for DuPont in Parlin for 25 years. After retirement, he enjoyed working in the yard, growing tomatoes, and sharing his crop with family, friends, and neighbors. He was a communicant of St Mary’s RC Church in South Amboy and served in the US Army.
He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Margaret Testa and his siblings Tony, Olive Bzdyra, Lorraine Orlando, Bobby, Tommy, and Beverly. Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, the former Jo Ann Hammer, his son and daughter-in-law Joseph Jr. and Anne, his siblings Betty Luciano, Bernice Albanese, Denise DePuy, Richie, and Claire Corbitt, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9:30am Mass at St. Mary’s RC Church in South Amboy. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Amboy.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Joseph’s name to a charity of your choice.
