Parlin
Joseph W. Rennie, age 82 of Parlin, passed away Sunday June 15, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manhattan, NY, he had lived in Parlin for the past 60 years. Before his retirement, Joseph worked as a Class A Mechanic for 34 years with Brooklyn Union Gas Company on Staten Island NY. He was a member of the IBEW Local # 3 on Staten Island. Joe was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Monmouth Worship Center in Marlboro where he was also a member of their Men’s Ministries.
He is predeceased by his sister Josephine.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, the former Carolyn M. Hermann, his children Susan L. Frank and her Husband Robert of Parlin, Sharon M. Gerhart of Vernon, Thomas W. and his wife Lisa of Perrineville, and his grandchildren Kyle, Robert, Kristin, Rachel, Alexandra, Emma and Jessica.
Funeral services will be Thursday 10am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, with an 11am service at Monmouth Worship Center 37 Vanderburg Road, Marlboro. Burial will follow at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
