Condolences

Condolence From: Michael Brown and Renee Alsarraf
Condolence: Dear Gonzalez family and friends,
Renee and I first met Joe at AMC and he continued his service to veterinary medicine with us in New Jersey at AERA. Joe’s ability to calm and restrain the most fractious and aggressive animals was incredible! He was the first dog whisperer, calmly walking into a room, sitting down next to an aggressive dog and gently restraining the dog for us. We will miss his warm smile, great laugh, always positive demeanor and friendship. He aided countless homeless animals with his care and love. Joe’s stories of his life in NYC, Dean, Frank and Marilyn were always favorites and could he sing! We love you Joe and we are thankful our paths crossed here on earth. Rest In Peace, dear friend-

Condolence From: Maria Rosado-Wolpert
Condolence: Joe was my dad's best friend for 60 years. He was an honorary uncle and friend to all of the Rosado/Molina family and was loved by all of us! He was a wonderful person that lit up a room, always a smile, a funny face, a joke to make us all smile. He had a beautiful voice and loved to hear him sing. He loved animals and we had that in common, would talk for hours about them. He had a gentle and sensitive heart, gave of himself, trying to make others happy though inside, he was in pain, emotionally from early on in his life and then later physically. Sadly, he rarely let anyone know, he had a lot of pride. I got closer to him in the past few years. Sadly, I didn't realize how bad he felt at first. Finally, he admitted that he felt alone and ignored a lot of times from his family. I would try to cheer him as much as I can over the phone. It wasn't until he was found in his house, self abused and sick that everyone found out how bad it really was. As his mind deteriorated from dementia, he would forget some things, it was harder to talk to him while he was in the rehab hospital but he rarely complained, still jokey and goofy at times. Though he did say he was very unhappy there and felt alone once in awhile. I wished that I had lived closer so that I could visit him and cheer him up more. I mention this because its a cautionary message, please pay attention to your loved ones. No matter if they cry out loudly or mention little things quietly, check on them, give time and create special memories while you can. There is always time to spread love and attention around to others that are not in your inner circle! He will be greatly missed and always loved! He was very special! I hope that I can see him again in the great beyond someday! RIP
