Parlin
John A. Kieras age 82 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 6, 2014 at his home with his loving and devoted family at his side. Born in Elizabeth he had resided in Parlin for the past 50 years. Before his retirement 25 years ago he was employed as a color matcher for Color Co in Linden. Mr. Kieras served in the Korean war as a corporal of the U.S. Army 74th Corp of engineers where he received the Korean service medal with 3 bronze service stars and a communicant of Saint Bernadette’s R. C. Church in Old Bridge.

He is predeceased by his wife Arlene P. Touhy Kieras in 1998 and his son John Michael Kieras in 1961. Surviving are his children and their spouses Timothy & Sandra Kieras of Carteret, Barbara & David Wantuch of Spotswood and Jodi & Mark Masterson of Parlin, his 6 grandchildren Kyle, Tyler, Cory, Katie, Lara and Evan his sister Florence Halapi of Succasunna and his brother Stanley Kieras of Florida.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 9am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 9:30am mass at Saint Bernadette’s R. C. Church in Old Bridge with private cremation to follow.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Friday 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in John’s name be made to Saint Jude Children Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
