John Joseph Falk, Sr. age 83 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away Monday January 26, 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. Born in South Amboy he was a lifelong Sayreville resident. He was a Veteran of the US Naval Reserve. Before his retirement, he was employed as a chemical operator for DuPont in Parlin for 38 years. Mr. Falk was a communicant of St Bernadette RC Church in Parlin where he was also a Eucharistic Minister, an usher, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8478 and the Holy Name Society. John especially enjoyed walking, reading, music, sports and movies.
He is predeceased by his parents John and Laura Falk, his daughter Susan Falk-DeChristofaro and his brother George. Surviving are his wife of 62 years the former, Angie Birardi, his children and their spouses Cathy and Gary Schwartz of Kissimmee, FL, Debbie and Steve Maness of Parlin, John Jr. and Mary of Parlin and Mary Jane Woodard of Parlin, his grandchildren Lauren Falk, Corey and Courtney Maness and Kelly Falk and his great grandchildren Sophia and Shea.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 8:45am At the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane with a 9:30am Mass at St Bernadette RC Church in Parlin. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.
