John R. Erdek age 35 years formally of Sayreville passed June 21st 2011 at his home. Born in Perth Amboy he had resided in South Amboy and Sayreville before moving to Maryland in 2000. John was employed as a carpenter for Phoenix Builders in Dundalk for the past 11 years. He was a certified EMT and had volunteered for the Sayreville, South River and Jamesburg First Aid Squads and was a former communicant of Our Lady of Victories R. C. Church in Sayreville.

Surviving are his companion for the past 10 years Sharon Jeffrey-Luettee, his son Samuel R. Erdek, his stepson Michael Luettee, his stepdaughter Cynthia Luettee, his parents John O. Erdek of Dundalk, MD., and Mary Jo McGrath Erdek of Loris, SC., his siblings Marijo E. Erdek, Curt P. Erdek, Richard G. Erdek, and Elizabeth R. Erdek, his maternal grandmother Rose McGrath and his nieces and nephews Richard, Julianna, Jonathan, and J.J.

A memorial services will take place Friday 8pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home. Letters of condolence may be sent to www.spezzifuneralhome.com
