John “Critter” Applegate, age 54 of Sayreville, passed away Wednesday October 8, 2014 at his home in Elizabeth. Born in South Amboy, he had lived most of his life in Sayreville. John loved gardening and helping family and friends. He was also very proud that he received his Black Seal, Boiler Operator License.
He is predeceased by his mother Janet and his brother Thomas.
Surviving are his father Joseph, his sister Janel and her husband John Tischler, his brother Gary and his wife Christine, his nieces Rachel Applegate, Nicole Tischler and his nephew PJ Tischler.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home with a 9:30am mass to follow at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. Burial will take place at New Calvary Cemetery in Parlin.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm.
