John “Lucky” Luciano, age 82 of South Amboy, passed away Saturday July 4, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Staten Island, New York, he had lived in Parlin before moving to Florida for the past 22 years. Before his retirement, John worked as a Maintenance Foreman for EI Du Pont in Parlin for 27 years. He also served as a reservist with the Marines.

He is predeceased by his parents Ralph and Carmela as well as his brother Ralph Jr. Surviving are his wife Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Testa), five children and their spouses Gary & Debra, Joanne & John McDonnell, John & Josette, Dennis & Debra, and Diane & Jeff Reagan. John was also blessed with 15 grandchildren, Matthew and Jessica, Gary Jr., Lauren and Manny, Michael, Bryan and Kelly, Christopher and Michelle, Elyse and Jarred, Evan (deceased), Sean, Gabriella, Stephen, Haley, Gianna, Nicholas and Madelyn. 6 Great-Grandchildren, Adeline, Braden, Ryan, Eliana, Noah and Mikayla.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home followed by an 11:15am Mass at St. Mary RC Church of South Amboy. Burial is to follow at Monmouth Memorial Park, 4201 Rte. 33 Tinton Falls, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to NJ Sharing Network Foundation, 691 Central Avenue, New Providence, NJ 07974.
