John Joseph Kaba III, age 72 passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City he has resided in Parlin for the past 19 years. He was employed as a carpenter for the Jersey City Board of Education for 17 years and was a member of the Local Carpenter’s Union. John was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Aloysius Church in Jersey City and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus #475 of Jersey City. Mr. Kaba was also a proud Cub Scout leader with St. Aloysius for many years.

He is predeceased by his parents John and Viola (Semenecz). He was the cherished and beloved husband of 50 years of Mary “Pat” Quinn, dearest father of John of Parlin, Bobby and his wife Denise of Kenilworth and Kathy of Parlin; loving Pop-pop of Cassandra and Christina & Anthony; brother and wife Stephen & Deborah of PA, and sisters Janet Sorrentino of Monroe & Deborah Costa of Bayonne. He will be missed by his other family Virginia Laamanen & Edward of New Milford, Eileen Kolody of Cliffwood Beach, Kevin Quinn & Patricia of Neptune City, and Margaret Connahan of Belmar. There are also a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and wonderful friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will take place at 10:30am on Monday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with an 11am Funeral Mass at St. Bernadette’s RC Church in Parlin. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2pm to 4pm & 6pm to 8pm.
