I am saddened to hear of Mr. Carey's passing. My deepest sympathies go out to everyone in the Carey family. I grew up on the same culdesac as the Careys, just 3 doors away. I am a year younger than his youngest son, Jimmy. Mr. Carey was a gracious host when the Carey children had their friends over when we were growing up and he and his wife, the late Leona Carey, were like having another set of parents on your street, looking after you. The rest of the kids on the street were lucky to have them. My young daughters would call on Jimmy and Mr. Carey when they visited their grandparents on Orchard Place. Both Mr. Carey and Jimmy were always kind to them. Mr. Carey was well respected and deservedly so. He was a good man. I will remember him fondly. May he rest in peace.
