Matawan
Gregory Sitze age, 56 passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at his home in Matawan. Born in New Brunswick, Gregory was a life long resident of South River until moving to Matawan two years ago.
Before his retirement, Greg was employed by the Borough of South River in the Department of Sanitation for 26 years. Greg will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing, crabbing and being a Sanitation Engineer. He always referred to or introduced himself as "Greg Sitze, Garbage Man". Gregory had a special love & bond with his dogs Jasper and Samantha.
Gregory's parents were the late Jane & Alex Sitze. Gregory was predeceased by his brother–in-law Fred Koch. Gregory is survived by his sister Barbara Koch, his brother & sister-in-law Ron and Vera Sitze, his wife Carla Sansone, his niece Barbara Scott, his nephew Fred Koch Jr, his aunts Stacia Sumski and Harriett Sitze, his great nephews Robert Scott and Devin Scott and many loving cousins and friends.
Calling hours at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue, South River will be held on Sunday, from 2pm to 6pm. Funeral services will take place on Monday, 10am at the Maliszewski Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Peter & Paul R.O. Cemetery, South River.
