Obituary for George Dolias


Parlin
George Dolias age 92 of Parlin passed away Thursday February 7, 2013 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Manhattan he had resided in Bloomfield before moving to Parlin. Before his retirement he was employed as a toll collector for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority at exit 10 for 16 years and prior to that was the owner of Cross Roads Bar in Newark for many years. George was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II and a member of Saint Demetrious Greek Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy.

He is predeceased by his wife Christina Paratheras Dolias in 2001. Surviving are his daughter Elaine White and her husband Thomas “Whitey” of Tarpon Springs, Florida, his son Nicholas Dolias of Jackson, his grandchildren Christopher, Amanda Lynn, Nicole and Ava Dolias, his sister Mary Dolias of Bloomfield and his brother Chris Dolias and his wife Angelina of Toms River.

Funeral services will be held Monday 9:15am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 10am service at Saint Demetrious G.O. Church in Perth Amboy with entombment to follow at Saint Mary’s Mausoleum, South Amboy.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in George’s name be sent to Saint Demetrious Greek Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy, N.J. Letters of condolence may be sent to the family at www.spezzifuneralhome.com
