Obituary for Elsie E Grasso

Parlin
Elsie E. Grasso passed away at her home in Parlin with her loving family at her side on March 22, 2016. Born on April 16, 1926 in Plattenhardt, Germany to Adam and Marie Anna (nee Steck) Stauch. She immigrated to the United States in March, 1927 and married Bernard A. Grasso in January, 1946 and moved to Parlin in December, 1954. Elsie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Perth Amboy and served as Trustee, Ruling Elder, Financial Secretary as well as a Church School Teacher, Superintendent, former President and current treasurer of United Presbyterian Women’s group.

She is predeceased by her husband Bernard in April, 1990. Surviving are her daughters and their spouses Carolann and John Bergler, Donna Marie and James Farley, her grandchildren Amy Bergler Hart, Jaimee Bergler Unkel, Brian Farley, Kaitlyn Farley Krainski and her great grandchildren Christian Krosnowski, Emily Krosnowski, Danica Unkel, Natalie Krainski, Jack Krainski and Drew Krainski.

Funeral services will be held 10:15am Friday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 11am service at First Presbyterian Church in Perth Amboy.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 3-7pm.
