Obituary for Efrain Soto
South River
Efrain Soto age 63 of South River passed away Thursday December 31, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, New York he resided there before moving to South River in 2000. Before his retirement in 2000 he was employed as a police detective with the New York City Police Department where he worked for 20 years. Efrain was a member of the Detectives Endowment Association N.Y.C. Police Department, has his Doctorate in the Science of Law Suma Cum Laude and had served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He is predeceased by his father Efrain Soto. Surviving are his wife of 40 years Eustaquia “Ester” Soto, his children and their spouses Efrain & Tammy Soto Jr. of Dublin, Pa., Joseph Soto and his fiancée Olivia Szerszen of South River, and Antonio & Denise Soto of Philadelphia Pa., his grandchildren Tyler, Jace, Bianca and Xavier Soto, his mother Hilda Rodriguez Soto of South River and his siblings Evelyn Crowe of Spotswood, Yvonne Persad of South River, Elsa O’Connor of Freehold, Juan Soto of South River and Nicholas Soto of Florida.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 6, 2016 8:45am at the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River with burial to follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J.
