Edwin Michalik age 92 of Sayreville passed away Wednesday December 31, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Sayreville he was a life long borough resident. Before his retirement in 1982, he was employed as an instrument mechanic for E.I. Du Pont Fabric and Finish Division in Parlin where he worked for 41 years. He was a member of the DuPont 10 and 25 year clubs. Edwin proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp serving in the 8th Air Corp, 92nd Bomber Group 246 Air Squadron where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a member of Sayreville V.F.W. Memorial Post 4699 and was a communicant of Saint Stanislaus Kostka R. C. Church in Sayreville, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society.

His is predeceased by his wife Mary M. Rusin Michalik in 2008, his parents George M. & Stella Michalik and his siblings Eugene, Alfred, Virginia Geraltowski, Dolores A. Tocci and Frank. Surviving are his daughter Rose Marie Michalik of Sayreville, his son Michael Michalik and his wife Eileen of South Amboy, his grandchildren Kimberly and Matthew, and his brother George Michalik.

Funeral services will be held Monday 8:30am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street Sayreville followed by a 9am mass at Saint Stanislaus Kostka R. C. Church in Sayreville with burial to follow at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Sunday from 2pm to 6pm. The following groups will hold services Sunday at the funeral home: St Stanislaus Holy Name Society 3pm, VFW Post 4699 4pm.
