South River
Chester M. Migut age 85 of South River passed away peacefully Wednesday July 20th at his home on with his family at his side. Born in South River he was a life long borough resident. Before his retirement 20 years ago he was employed as purchasing manager for Sunshine Biscuit in Sayreville for over 30 years. Chester was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving on the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Ticonderoga, was a member of the South River American Legion Post 214, the Big “T” Veterans Association and South River Knights of Columbus Council 3001. He had graduated for Saint Mary’s Grammar School, South River High School and received his BS in Business Administration from Seton Hall University. He was a communicant of Saint Mary of Ostrabrama R. C. Church in South River where he was a member of the Holy Name Society.

He is predeceased by his parents Peter & Sophie Migut, his brothers Walter, John, Henry and Frank Migut, and his sisters Rose Banach and Mary Woscyna. Surviving are his wife of 57 years Sophie Marie Krukowski Migut, his sons Gary and his wife Ira and Raymond Migut of South River, his granddaughters Stephanie, Nicole and Michelle, his sister Jean Montigros of Red Bank, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 23rd 2011 8:30am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River followed by a 9am mass at Saint Mary of Ostrabrama R. C. Church in South River with burial to follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Friday from 6pm to 9pm. The following groups will hold services Friday at the funeral home: South River American Legion Post 214 7pm, K of C Council 3001 7:30pm, Saint Mary’s Holy Name Society 8pm.
