Bryan Patrick Dowdell, age 57, of the Parlin section of Old Bridge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Haven Hospice Care at JFK Hospital in Edison. Born in Ozone Park, Queens, NY, Bryan lived in Staten Island before settling in Parlin for the past 17 years where he raised his loving family. Bryan was a proud and skilled carpenter for the NYC District Council of Carpenters of America, Local 157. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8478 as well as the CYO Girls basketball coach for many years. Bryan was considered a loyal friend who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bryan is predeceased by his parents William and Mary Ellen Dowdell and his brother Richie Dowdell. Surviving are his beloved wife of 25 years, Denise (Homan) of Parlin; his loving children William and Meaghan, both of Parlin; brother Kevin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mickey & Lori and Steven & Doreen, all of Staten Island; his nephews Michael & Nicholas and niece Stephanie; as well as many loving friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9:30am Catholic Mass at St. Bernadette’s RC Church in Parlin. A private cremation will follow.

Calling hours at the funeral home will take place on Wednesday from 5pm to 9pm.
