Obituary for Alexander Orsa

Alexander  Orsa
Alexander Orsa, age 67 of South River passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at his home. Born in South River he was a lifelong borough resident. Before his retirement he was employed by Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company working in the Biological Lab for many years and then for Dick’s Sporting Goods in East Brunswick. His parents immigrated here from Belarus and he was an active member of the Belarus Society in South River and a communicant of St Mary of Zyrovicy Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in Highland Park.

He is predeceased by his parents Piatro and Nina Orsa and his brother George Orsa. Surviving are his cousins Alla Romano, Paval Romano and Kola Romano all of NY and by many extended family members.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 9:30am to 11am at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave, South River with an 11am Prayer Service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St Mary of Zyrovicy Cemetery in East Brunswick. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Alex’s name to St Mary of Zyrovicy Church, 9 River Rd, Highland Park, NJ 08904. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, please note that a maximum of 50 visitors will be allowed inside the funeral home at once and masks must be worn at all times.
