Obituary for Albert J. "Big Al" Roemer Jr.

Albert J. Roemer, Jr. “Big Al” age 86 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away Saturday September 8th 2012 at his home. Born in Brooklyn he had resided in Parlin for the past 15 years. Before his retirement in 1984 he was employed as a pipefitter for Exxon in Linden for 25 years. Mr. Roemer was a US Navy Veteran serving in WWII and a communicant of St Bernadette RC Church in Parlin where he was also a member of the Seniors and worked Tuesday night bingos.

He is predeceased by his parents Albert and Edna Roemer. Surviving are wife of 64 years, the former Elinore Rush, his children and their spouses James and Eileen of Sayreville, Thomas and Elizabeth of Monroe, Richard and Linda of Old Bridge, Maryann Dugan and Patrick of Parlin, Michael of Parlin, his grandchildren Michelle Lordi and her husband Michael, Lindsay, Caitlin and Richard and his great-grandchildren, Courtney, Samantha and Jason.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9:30am Mass at St Bernadette RC Church in Parlin. An entombment will follow at St Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Albert’s name to a charity of your choice.
