Obituary for Clyde Craney

South River
Clyde Craney age 84 of South River passed away peacefully on Saturday January 14, 2017 at Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge while doing rehab, with his loving and devoted children at his side. Born in Dunoon, Scotland he immigrated to the United States in 1955 moving to South River in 1960. At the age of 18 Clyde served for two years in the British Army and after becoming a Citizen of the United States he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. Before his retirement in 1990 he was employed as a chemical operator for E. I. Du Pont in the F & F and Photo Products divisions in Parlin. Prior to that he was employed as a brakeman for Anaconda Mining and Copper Works in Perth Amboy for 20 years and held part time jobs with Two Guys, Food Town, Acme and Shoprite food stores.

He is predeceased by his wife Stella Muraszko Craney in 2012, his daughter Monica Bogusz, his parents Arthur & Isabella Craney and his siblings Greta, Joyce, Moyra and Arthur. Surviving are his children and their spouses Patricia & Robert Smith, Loretta & Thomas Stanik, Margaret & John Wytanis and Deborah Pfeifer, his son in law Thomas Bogusz, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11am at the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River with burial to follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Wednesday from 9am to 11am. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Clyde’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
