Toms River
Shirley K. Barbieri age 87 of Manchester passed away peacefully on Thursday April 21, 2016 at he Arbors Care Center, in Toms River. Born in Sayreville she had resided there before moving to Manchester in 2001. Before her retirement she was employed by the Sayreville Board of Education as a substitute Teacher and prior to that as an administrative assistant for J & J Personal Products. Shirley was a member of Good Sheppard Church in Perth Amboy.
She is predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Eugene L. Barbieri who died October 16, 2015, also her parents Carl F. & Catherine Scheid Scherf and her sister May S. Van Cleaf. Surviving are her children and their spouses Kathryn A. & Nicholas Keating of Toms River, and Thomas E. & Marianne Barbieri of Sayreville, and her cherished granddaughters Amanda and Marissa.
Funeral services will be held Monday 9:15am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 10am service at Most Holy Rosary R.C. Church in Perth Amboy with burial to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. Letters of condolence, completed arrangements and direction can be found at spezzifuneralhome.com
