Obituary for Doris Kozo

South River
Doris E. Rupprecht Kozo, of South River, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at St. Peter’s Medical Center, New Brunswick. She was born in New Brunswick and had lived in Helmetta and Milltown before residing in South River for over 50 years. She started her career as a secretary, becoming a compositor/typesetter at many printing companies. She was Past President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Lyons-Schepso Post 1451 in South River, and past member of the Eastern Star of Highland Park. She was secretary for South River Senior Citizens; a member of Corpus Christie & St. Stephen’s Seniors in South River and St. Stan’s Seniors in Sayreville. She also belonged to the Red Hats. With her gifted hands she played a beautiful piano& organ, crocheted, knitted, made clothes for family and friends, created many oil and water paintings; enjoyed traveling the world, taking cruises, and was an animal lover.
Her husband, Ernest C. Kozo, died in 2009. Predeceased by her parents, Hilda and Conrad Rupprecht. Surviving are her daughter and fiancé: Karen Charette & Stephen Niederle of Milltown, NJ; her son and daughter-in-law: Bruce & Elaine Bertram of South River, her brother and sister-in-law: Conrad & Marjorie Rupprecht of Katy, Texas, her nephew Conrad (Bob) Rupprecht, Jr, of Houston, Texas, and her niece, Pamela Calderwood of Chappel Hill, North Carolina
Calling hours will held Thursday at the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead avenue South River, NJ from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Funeral services will be held Friday 10am at the Maliszewski Funeral Home followed by an entombment at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge.
