Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” Jurewicz age 60 of South River passed away Thursday September 18th 2014 at her home with her loving husband at her side. Born in Levittown, Pennsylvania she was raised in Yardley, Pa. residing in Staten Island New York before moving to South River 25 years ago. Betsy was a graduate of Bucks County Community College where she earned her Associates Degree in Music with a major in Voice and a minor in Piano. She was employed as a department assistant in the History & Social Science Department of Middlesex County College where she worked for 15 years. Prior to that she was employed as a bank manager for Community National Bank in Staten Island where she worked for 10 years. Betsy was active at Meals on Wheels and March of Dimes in Staten Island, was an avid Nascar fan, loved the theater, music, spending time in Florida, ducks, pelicans and the beach. Betsy was fun loving, good natured, and compassionate person who lived life. Betsy was very thoughtful and caring about others and always made time to listen to people whether they be friends, family, students, co-workers or strangers. Betsy philosophy was to live, love, laugh and enjoy the time we have here in this life.

She is predeceased by her parents Harry E. & Emily R Noblit. Surviving are her devoted husband James “Moe” Jurewicz her sister and best friend Melanie Noblit-Gambino and her husband Michael Gambino of Somers, N.Y., her sister & brother in law Lorraine & Hank Bouer and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 7pm at the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in Betsy’s name be made to Saint Jude Children Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
