John Sosnowitz age 97 of Sayreville passed away Monday August 25, 2014 at Roosevelt Care Center, Old Bridge. Born in Sayreville, son of the late Jacob & Mary Sosnowitz, he was a life long borough of Sayreville resident. Before his retirement 32 years ago he was employed as a carpenter for State of N.J. Department of Human Services for 30 years. Mr. Sosnowitz was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Saints Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church in South River.

He is predeceased by his wife Pauline Sosnowitz in 1997 as well as his siblings Alex, Edward and Anthony Sosnowitz as well as Irene Pinaha, Helen Chionchio, Jenny Grodzian, Stella Frankel and Olga Smith. Surviving are his brother Walter Sosnowitz of Parlin and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 10am at the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street Sayreville with burial to follow at Saints Peter & Paul R.O. Cemetery, South River.
