Obituary for Donald John "Don" Pryor

Donald John "Don"  Pryor
Donald J. Pryor, age 56, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2014. He was born in New Brunswick to Peter and Sophie (Sokolowski) Pryor. Don was raised in South River and graduated from South River HS in 1976. He graduated from Rutgers University where he met his future wife, Liza McLellan and they were married in 1983. He and his family moved to Green Bay in 2006. Don’s joy was his son, Michael. He coached Michael’s baseball and soccer teams over the years. Since moving to Green Bay, Don was a substitute teacher at Notre Dame Academy. He loved interacting with the students. Don was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Vincent T. Lombardi Council #11834, a 4th Degree Knight and most recently the Grand Knight. He is a former member of St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church in South River. Don was an avid Rutgers sports fan and loved traveling to Rutgers football bowl games. He also enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and family. While living in New Jersey, Don started his own barbecue catering business.

Surviving are his wife, Liza, and his son, Michael, both of Green Bay; his parents, Peter and Sophie Pryor of South River; and his brother, James Pryor, of South River. Don is further survived by brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 8:30am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River followed by a 9am mass at Saint Mary of Ostrabrama R. C. Church in South River with burial to follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick, N.J.
