Zigmunt “Ziggy” R. Czaplinski, age 84 of Sayreville, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at his home. Born in Neptune, Ziggy had resided in Sayreville for over 30 years. He was a proud US Navy Veteran of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Before his retirement, Ziggy was a New Jersey State Tropper for over 25 years, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant. An avid storyteller, Ziggy could captivate a room within minutes! He loved making people laugh and entertaining them with stories of his life experiences.
He is predeceased by his parents Zygmunt and Beatrice and his son Richard.
Surviving are, his sister Eileen Osborne and her husband George, his brother Gregory, his close companion Susan Krainski, his nieces Carrie Osborne and Stephanie Bloom and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Calling hours at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, will take place on Thursday from 3pm to 7pm. A prayer service will take place at 4:30pm on Thursday and a private cremation will follow.
