Obituary for Yolanda D'Alessio (Gerardo)

Yolanda Gerardo D’Alessio, 96, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Hampton Ridge Healthcare in Toms River. Born in Newark, she had lived in Seminole, FL for 22 years, Whiting for 13 years and at Leisure Park in Lakewood for 7 years. Before her retirement, Yolanda worked as a Docket Clerk for the Essex County Court House for 20 years.
Yolanda is predeceased by her husband Stanley, whom she was married to for 63 years. They were high school sweethearts and he was truly the love of her life. She was also predeceased by her brothers Gustave, Jerry and Daniel Gerardo, and her sisters Mary Maltese and Anne Cassiere.
Surviving are her loving daughter Deborah Salagaj and her husband Stanley, her grandson Robert and his wife Daniela, her granddaughter Alyssa, her great-grandson Maximus and many loving nieces and nephews.
Yolanda or Loni as she liked to be called was a deeply spiritual, compassionate and sociable person. She especially enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Loni was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin at 8:45 A.M with a 9:30 A.M. mass at St. Bernadette’s R.C Church in Parlin. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Orange. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M.
