Obituary for William J. Anderson Sr.

William J. Anderson Sr, age 83 of Laurence Harbor passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Hackensack Meridian Health Old Bridge Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Staten Island, NY he had resided in Laurence Harbor for the past 22 years and formerly in the Parlin section of Sayreville for many years. He was a US Air Force Veteran. Before his retirement William was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 25 in Millstone for 25 years and then for the IUOE Local 825 in Springfield for 15 years. William enjoyed riding motorcycles, was an avid fisherman, was a clam digger but most of all his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is predeceased by his loving wife, Dolores Anderson in 1999 and his son William J. Anderson, Jr. in 2003, his parents James and Elsie Anderson, and his siblings James Anderson, Michael Anderson, Bruce Anderson, Lorraine “Peggy” Sprague, Shirley Mara, Elona Paul, Charlene Gorman and Janice D’Andrea.

Surviving are his daughters and their spouses Alicia and Rob Tomaszewski of Parlin and Denise and John Imundo of Spotswood, his grandchildren Haley, Rebecca, Mitchell, Dolores “Dori” and Erin, his siblings and their spouses Charlie and Genieve Anderson, Elsie Troland and Pamela and Rocco Florio and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
