Obituary for Walter F Siedlecki

South River
Walter F. Siedlecki, age 101 of South River, passed away peacefully at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Born in South Amboy, he had lived in East Brunswick before moving back to South River, where he grew up, 25 years ago. A long time employee of Hercules Inc., Walter worked as a mechanic, welder, and mechanical supervisor in the Natrosol Area of the former Parlin plant. He was a proud US Navy veteran of World War II where he served as a PBY Catalina crew member in the Pacific (“Black Cats”, VPB – 33) and was a Purple Heart recipient. Walter was a member of the Mercer County Radio Control Society, a radio controlled model airplane club. He enjoyed spending his retirement years building and flying radio controlled model airplanes with his son Walter V. Walter was a communicant of St. Bartholomew’s R.C. Church in East Brunswick and an original church member.
He is predeceased by his wife Wanda, his brother John and his parents John and Julia Siedlecki.
Surviving are his sons Walter V. and Jeffrey, both of East Brunswick.
Funeral services will be Thursday with an 11:00am Mass at St. bartholomew’s RC Church in East Brunswick. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick.
Calling hours at the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Ave. South River, will be Thursday 9:00am to 10:15am.
