Walter E. Asseng III, age 63 of Keyport, passed away at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, he had lived in Cliffwood Beach before moving to Keyport last year. Walter was a carpenter by trade and worked for Citarella Construction LLC in Colonia for several years.
He is predeceased by his parents Walter Jr and Ruth Asseng and his beloved grandson Tyler Asseng.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 42 years Roxanne Zebrowski Asseng, his loving sons Walter IV and his wife Jennifer, Paul and Patrick, his cherished grandchildren Haley, Madison, Patrick Jr., Paityn, Noah, Paul Jr., and Ethan and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Calling hours at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane in Parlin will be on Wednesday from 5pm tom 9pm, with a 5:15pm prayer service at the funeral home. A private cremation will follow.
