Obituary for Stella Doughty (Marcinczyk)

Sayreville
Stella Doughty (Marcinczyk), age 86, of Sayreville, peacefully passed away at her home on Thursday, December 3, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sayreville to the late Benjamin and Stella Marcinczyk, Stella was a lifelong resident of the borough. Before her retirement, Stella worked at her family’s business, Benny’s Tavern in Sayreville, as well as with Brodsky Textiles in South River. She was an avid reader who enjoyed a good mystery, a baker that made beautiful wedding cakes for her friends and family, and a talented crafter who especially loved to knit and crochet - baby blankets were her specialty. Stella will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Before her illness she loved to spend time at the Sayreville Senior Center, was an active member of St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society, and was inseparable from her childhood and lifelong friends, Marie Silvanovich and Maime Zaneski, whom she joins in heaven.

Stella is predeceased by her beloved husband Franklin Doughty and her sister Eileen Cosgrove. Surviving are her loving children Michele Doughty and fiancée Jeffrey Cook of Parlin, and Franklin Doughty, Jr. of Sayreville; and a family of close loving friends who will feel her loss terribly.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 11, 2020 at 10am at St. Stans Cemetery in Sayreville under the direction of the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main Street, Sayreville.
