Silvio De Jesus Cruz age 83 passed away on Saturday evening January 2, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Silvio was born on July 26, 1937 and lived in Chipar de Cima, Vilarinho do Bairro, Portugal. He served in the Army and afterwards farmed for 10 years before immigrating to South Africa for 11 years. He then immigrated to Newark, New Jersey where he was employed by Petcher’s Bakery for over 20 years prior to retiring and returning to Chipar de Cima.

Silvio is survived by his loving wife Natalia of 60 years and his children, Fernanda, her husband Ulisses Brajoco and their children Ashley (husband Steven) and Briana; Manuel Cruz his partner Angelica and their daughter Natalia; Ana Paula Pereira, her husband Manny and their children Brian (wife Melissa and son Gavin) and Kevin (his partner Luda and son Luke); Tony Cruz, his wife Maggie and their children Brittany and Matthew; Silvio Dinis Cruz, his wife Kelly and their children Nicole, Caroline and Silvio; and Sandra Cruz and her husband Michael.

Funeral mass will be held Wednesday 10:30am at the Corpus Christi Church in South River, NJ with burial to follow in Portugal. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in name of Silvio to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) or St Jude’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
