Scott G. Rooney, age 55 of Old Bridge, passed away at home on Friday September 4, 2020. Born in Pittsburg, PA, he had lived in the Sayreville area for many years. Scott worked as an aircraft maintenance technician for United Airlines for over 30 years.
He is predeceased by his parents Henry Rooney and Catherine Brocato and his brother Jack Rooney.
Surviving are his wife of 11 years Dorothy Rooney, his step-children Jason, Danny and Jennifer Ventura, his siblings Linda Wisniewski, Laura LoPresti, Maureen Mifsud, Diane Rooney along with close cousins and dear nieces and nephews.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be Thursday 8:45am at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 9:30am Mass at St. Bernadette’s RC Church in Parlin. Burial will take place at New Calvary Cemetery in Parlin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to GoFundMe. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, please note that a maximum of 100 visitors will be allowed inside the funeral home at once and masks must be worn at all times. We encourage visitors to limit their time in the building to allow the family the maximum amount of guests possible.
