Obituary for Rozalia Milkowski

South River
Rozalia Milkowski, age 90, of South River, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Charzewice, Poland to the late Ludwik and Maria Gaj, Rozalia immigrated to the United States, first living in Passaic before settling in South River, where she has lived since 1963. Before her retirement in 1994, Mrs. Milkowski was employed by Johnson & Johnson in Raritan as an inspector. She was a devout communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church, having been a member of the Rosary Society for many years. Rozalia was also a member of the South River Senior Citizens Club, the ZPA in Perth Amboy, and worked at the South River Coat Co. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Rozalia loved watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, I Love Lucy, Yankee games (especially Derek Jeter), and attended daily Mass through live stream from Our Lady of Czestochowa in Poland. She was a foodie who loved cooking three course meals from scratch every day and spending time at the dinner table with loved ones. Rozalia loved to entertain especially at Christmas where the table was always surrounded by family, and she welcomed anyone who would be alone for the holidays. She loved hot tea, her morning cup of Sanka, and everything strawberry. Above all else she loved her family. She adored her grandchildren and niece whom she lovingly called "my heart" and "my dearest treasures.” She was a generous person who always thought of others before herself.

Rozalia is predeceased by her beloved husband Tadeusz and her sister Zofia Leszczynski. Surviving is her loving daughter Zofia Ebert of East Brunswick; her 3 dear grandchildren Tadeusz, Katarzyna, and Krystyna Ebert; her sister Lusia De La Torre; her nieces and nephew Martha De La Torre, Leszek Leszczynski, and Ewa Orlowska; as well as many dear friends and family members.

Funeral services are scheduled for 8:30am on Saturday from the M.A. Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave, South River followed by a 9am mass next door at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown, PA. Transportation will be provided to PA via private bus for those who are interested.
