Obituary for Rose Szkodny (Blaszka)

East Brunswick
Rose Blaszka Szkodny, age 71 of East Brunswick, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Meridian Health Center in Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, she grew up in Sayreville and moved to East Brunswick over 40 years ago. Rose began her career as an office manager for Dr. Karr Dental Offices and then worked for Hercules in Parlin. After leaving Hercules, she continued to work as an office manager for several dental offices throughout New Jersey. She loved playing softball and volleyball and played in several leagues when she was younger. Rose also loved the snow and truly enjoyed shoveling it as well. Anyone who knew Rose, knew of her great love of cooking and baking. Everything she made, she did with love; and everything she made, she gave away. Rose loved cooking and baking for the Veterans at the Menlo Park VA home and anytime you were having a tough day, Rose would somehow know and bake something special for you.
She is predeceased by her parents Chester and Sophie, her brother Eugene Blaszka, her sister Christine Breese, and her beloved granddaughter Stella Rose Szkodny.
Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years, Richard, her cherished children Daniel and Diana, her soon to be granddaughter Charleigh Rose, her siblings and their spouses Chester & Doris Blaszka, Florence Wingerter and her husband Greg, Richard & Janet Blaszka, Theresa Villanti, Anthony & Kim Blaszka, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.
A private cremation was entrusted to the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 10am to 12pm at the funeral home.
