Rose (Birardi) McGrath age 92 of the Fords section of Woodbridge passed away peacefully on Sunday December 13, 2015 at her home. Born in South Amboy she had resided in the Parlin section of Sayreville before moving to Fords 8 years ago. Before her retirement she was employed as a banker with P.N.C. bank, formally Heritage Bank North in East Brunswick, for 30 years and was a communicant of Saint Bernadette’s R. C. Church in Parlin.

She is predeceased by her husband Robert E. McGrath in 2006, her son Brian McGrath in 1979, her grandsons John and Richard Erdek and her siblings Mary Birardi, Joseph, Mario, Michael Birardi and Marie “Toni” Kreseski. Surviving are her children and their spouses Denise & Gordon Scala with whom she lived in Fords, Gary McGrath of Whiting, Mary Jo Erdek of Loris NC, Sharon & John Tricarico of Edison, Wayne McGrath of Manalapan and Mark & Nancy McGrath of Manalapan, her sisters Anna Masure and Angelina Falk, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin followed by a 9:30am mass at Saint Bernadette’s R. C. Church with burial to follow at New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm.
