Robert Kanaval, age 79 of South River, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Roosevelt Care Center in Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong resident of South River. Before his retirement, Robert worked as a stock market security analyst with ADP in Jersey City. He also worked at Computer Associates and Johnson and Johnson. Robert was an avid sports fan and loved watching the NY Yankees, the NY Giants and the NY Rangers. He also loved playing golf in his spare time. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River.
He is predeceased by his parents John and Mary Anna, his beloved sister Mary Yanchuk and her husband George, his beloved brother Michael and his wife Josephine, and his nephew Michael Kanaval Jr.
Surviving are his niece Barbara Misiewicz and her husband John S. Misiewicz, DC, his nephews Joshua and Matthew Misciewicz of Sayreville, JoAnne Kanaval Gibney of Manalapan, Michelle Kanaval Middaugh of PA, and Joseph Kanaval of Cranford.
A private cremation was entrusted to the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street Sayreville.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 9am with a burial of cremated remains to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Brunswick.
